My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The End of Hatred is the first part in a series which takes the readers into a world created by goddess Etherya. This world consisted of four species namely, the Slayers, the Vampyres, the Deamons and the humans. There was a time when the Slayers and the Vampyres used to live peacefully with each other, however, because of one instance their truce ended and the species were at war. Both Miranda and Sathan aspired to bring peace among their kinds and to end hatred. However, there were too many obstacles to overcome to achieve this goal and they fought valiantly to overcome those obstacles.
I loved how different yet so alike Miranda and Sathan were. Sathan was stable to Miranda's impulsive nature and the calm to her storm. Sathan had an aura about him that made him very intriguing and likable. He was authoritative when needed to be, level-headed and practical. Miranda was fearless, passionate and at times a little impulsive but that just added more character to her personality. She was strong and courageous and was willing to do anything for her people.
I loved how Miranda and Sathan's story developed both individually and as a couple. Sathan loved Miranda even though he was reluctant to admit it and it showed in their every encounter. I liked seeing how Miranda grew a lot as a person throughout the book and a large part of it was due to Sathan. Sathan was always there for her even when she lashed at him and of course him being sexy-as-sin made him more appealing. Both Miranda and Sathan had to go through some horrific tragedies to reach their goal but as they say life isn't always a bed of roses.
The supporting characters added charisma and intrigue to an already intriguing book. Heden and Arderin were adorable. Kenden was a warrior, strong and silent. I had my suspicions about Darkrip from the beginning which turned out to be true but I never would have guessed to motive behind it so kudos for keeping the readers hooked with that. The only thing I can say about Latimus and Lila is that I can't wait to read their book.
I think Rebecca Hefner has portrayed everything so clearly and beautifully that it actually feels like you are in Etherya's Earth which is a feat in itself. I am excited to read everyone else's stories and would definitely say this book is a MUST READ!
